Ovary Action was Vice Media’s source for reproductive health news, brought by Broadly.
Organized by the Dutch pro-choice non-profit Women on Waves, founded by Dr. Rebecca Gomperts, drone-delivered abortion flights are designed to bypass strict legal borders, sparking international media coverage, and highlighting regional inequalities in reproductive healthcare.
Broadly travels to Sweden, a nation that offers 480 days of paid leave, and Papua New Guinea, where paid maternity leave is not federally-mandated, to compare how their policies fare against our own. Host Tracie Morrissey explores the options for new mothers with contrasting incomes, along with the policies that could improve the grim state of unpaid maternity leave in the U.S.
